The most hated truth

The most hated truth

(Hell

Hell, What Is It Like?)

David Wilkerson

Hell is the most hated truth in the world.

It’s hated most by backslidden theologians and preachers and liberals.

They hate the message on hell.

They wail and gnash their teeth against the very idea of eternal hell, especially that there’s wrath and terror and literal fire.

But you see, they say that hell is not compatible with the love of Jesus Christ.

And human nature recoils at the very thought of eternal demnation, ever-lasting torments, weeping, wailing, gnashing of teeth.

So this truth from the very first time when it’s been preached for this last day and more so now than ever the message on hell’s been ridiculed.

It’s been softened.

It’s been discounted.

Every efforts’re made to explain it away.

Yet God is not ashamed to declare He has wrath against sin.

My Bible is full of the fact that God being holy God is also wrathful of God against sin.

The Bible is full of warnings concerning the wrath of God.

David preached the wrath of God.

He said,

Thine hand shall find out all thine enemies:

thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee.

Thou shalt make them as a fiery oven

in the time of thine anger:

the LORD shall swallow them up in his wrath,

and the fire shall devour them.

Psalms 21:8-9

Jeremiah preached the judgment and wrath of God.

But the LORD [is] the true God,

he [is] the living God, and an everlasting king:

at his wrath the earth shall tremble,

and the nations shall not be able

to abide his indignation.

Jeremiah 10:10

No one’s gonna stand when He moves in His anger and wrath against sin

(Psalms 76:7, Jeremiah 32:31).

Is that in your Bible, friends?

How is it that the ministers would say that God has no wrath in Him?

Hell is the fullest expression of God’s wrath against sin and unrighteousness, is the full expression of God’s hatred towards sin.

It was prepared orginally for the devil and his (fallen) angels.

God has created hell of torment, indignation for His wrath.

You say, how could loving Jesus create hell so horrible which is beyond imagination,

where His full wrath for etenity is gong to be spent on the ungodly and sinful?

Jesus warned about this over and over again.

He preached it to His friends.

He’s talking to His desciples.

Listen to what He said.

And I say unto you my friends,

Be not afraid of them that kill the body,

and after that have no more that they can do.

But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear:

Fear him, which after he hath killed hath

power to cast into hell;

yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

Luke 12:4-5

Who said that?

Jesus said that.

He preached towards friends.

He preached towards those who were saved.

What is hell like?

What is hell going to be like?

Hell is a kingdom of darkness literally and spiritually.

Now remember

In God’s kingdom there’s not going to be need of a sun, a moon, or stars,

because Jesus, the Lamb will be the light.

And the city had no need of the sun,

neither of the moon, to shine in it:

for the glory of God did lighten it,

and the Lamb [is] the light thereof.

Revelation 21:23

The only light that we have in glory is the brilliance of His nature and His holiness that’s going to shine throughout the new world that He’s creates.

But there is hell that is eternal darkness.

It’s gonna be tormenting darkness so supplicating.

It’s going to be darkness created by God.

It’s darkness we don’t understand.

Jesus warned

But the children of the kingdom shall

be cast out into outer darkness:

there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Matthew 8:12

This is darkness so supplicating can be felt.

It’s gonna be darkness to cause us pain.

There’s also spiritual darkness.

This outer darkness describes being cast further and further away from God.

There’s going to be ever increasing spiritual darkness.

Now the Bible calls hell ‘a lake of fire’ (Revelation 20:15)

Now hell is more than just being forsaken by God, abandoned.

Hell is punishment.

It’s not just prison.

It’s punishment.

It’s vengeance.

In flaming fire taking vengeance on them

that know not God, and that obey not

the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

Who shall be punished

with everlasting destruction

from the presence of the Lord,

and from the glory of his power

2 Thessalonians 1:8-9

Jude said,

“suffering the vengeance of eternal fire”

(Jude 1:7)

How long will God hate sin?

As long as He is God.

He cannot stop hating sin into eternity because that is His nature.

He will hate sin all through eternity.

There will be hell as long as God hate sin.

It’s never ending, never never ending.

Hell is a place of rage and hatred towards God.

They’re gonna rage against the cross.

Because it was the only way out.

It was the only way to salvation, the only door,

the death, the burial, the resurrection of Jesus Christ at the cross.

Who’s going to hell?

If you find yourself in this list,

oh God, put holy fear in your heart,

bring you to repentance tonight.

But the fearful, and unbelieving,

and the abominable, and murderers,

and whoremongers, and sorcerers,

and idolaters, and all liars,

shall have their part in the lake

which burneth with fire and brimstone:

which is the second death.

Revelation 21:8

Who’s going to hell?

And whosoever was not found written

in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Revelation 20:15

And the Bible says,

“Only those written in the Lamb’s book of life will be saved.”

(Revelation 21:27)

If you really believe what I’m preaching tonight, there’d no way on this earth,

if you can sit for hours in front of television set without getting into a secret closet weeping for your children, your unsaved love ones.

If you belive what I’m preaching that there is eternal hell,

why are you so wrapped up in the things of this world?

Why aren’t we weeping and praying for unsaved love ones?

Why are we not rejoicing more about being pulled as a brand right out of the burning?

Jesus, send the Holy Ghost mightly right now.

Quietly deal with us now.

Reach out, Holy Spirit now, all over this congregation.

Bring in the backslider.

Bring in those cold of heart.

Bring in those that are drifting.

Bring them home, Jesus.
