Put Away Your Idols
Put Away Your Idols
(Sermon Proof Christians)
David Wilkerson
By faith Moses,
when he was come to years,
refused to be called
the son of Pharaoh’s daughter;
Hebrews 11:24
Choosing rather to suffer affliction
with the people of God,
than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;
Hebrews 11:25
Esteeming the reproach of Christ
greater riches than the treasures in Egypt:
for he had respect unto
the recompence of the reward.
Hebrews 11:26
By faith he forsook Egypt,
not fearing the wrath of the king:
for he endured,
as seeing him who is invisible.
Hebrews 11:27
He refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter.
That decision costed him everything
because one day he said
“I don’t want this.
I don’t want to be called
the son of Pharaoh’s daughter.
I’m the son of the living God!”
This man had his eyes on Jesus Christ.
Esteeming the reproach of Christ.
I don’t have to say any more
about separation than that.
You esteemed the reproach of Jesus Christ
greater than the world
greater than your job
greater than your business.
You esteemed the reproach of Christ greater.
It’s gonna cost you something.
It may cost you everything.
You may be out of the job.
You may spend some years
at the back side of wilderness and saying.
“What’s all about?”
You may have time of confusing and say.
“God, where am I?
I paid the price. I stepped out.”
It will be sometimes like God’s forsaking.
You would feel that way.
But does it pay?
And Moses [was] an hundred
and twenty years old when he died:
his eye was not dim,
nor his natural force abated.
Deuteronomy 34:7
He was as strong as the day
he was a youth.
Is there an area God’s dealing with?
Onen area.
Are you disobeying God?
Has He told you something you’re not doing?
You backed off something
you’d promised to God?
No guilt trip.
Get rid of that character flaw tonight.
Get rid of that thing.
Send Pharaoh’s daughter home.
Cut the string tonight .
no matter what it costs you.
Cut it.
Lay that besetting sin down.
Lay that attachment down.
I promise you
God’s glory will touch your heart tonight.
Holy Ghost, come with conviction.
Holy Spirit, convict us.
God, break that thing that holds and binds us.
