Glorifying His name

Glorifying His name

(Don’t slander your Heavenly Father)

David Wilkerson

Israel slandered the Heavenly Father with a question.

It happened in Rephidim.

Remember?

When the whole nation began to weep because there was no water

but it says in Exodus 17:7.

… because they tempted the LORD, saying, Is the LORD among us, or not?

Exodus 17:7

They tempted the Lord.

It was something that started in their hearts.

They began to question, “Is God with us? Or isn’t He?”

It was just a question that would’ve been placed a doubt and placed in your mind.

They looked around.

There was no evidence of God moving at this particular time.

They’re forgetting all the past miracles.

And they’re saying,

“I know He worked in the past, but is He with us now?

Is He with me right now in this crisis?

Is He with me now in my present problem?”

It was just a question.

But then soon they began to voice it because it’s in your heart.

It’s gonna soon come out.

You’d not only be slandering in your heart.

You would be slandering before your brethren.

You would be slandering Him before the whole world.

They were going around.

Everybody was saying, “Is God really with us or not? Is God with us?”

That’s all you have to ask after your heart.

That’s all you have to say to you in your own spirit.

“Is God with me or not?”

I know He was something in the past.

But I’m going through some.

“Is God with me? Or is He not with me?”

Just a question.

“Is God able?”

That’s the question.

Let me ask you about your heart, the way you have been thinking lately

How have you been thinking about your Heavenly Father?

Behold, he smote the rock, that the waters gushed out, and the

streams overflowed; can he give bread also?

Therefore the LORD heard [this,] and was wroth: so a fire was

kindled against Jacob, and anger also came up against Israel;

Because they believed not in God, and trusted not in his

salvation:

Psalms (78:20-22)

My Bible says,

The LORD knoweth the thoughts of man, that they [are] vanity.

Psalms 94:11

He knows our thoughts.

Nevertheless they did flatter him with their mouth, and they

lied unto him with their tongues. Psalms 78:36

For their heart was not right with him, neither were they

stedfast in his covenant. Psalms 78:37

Let me talk to you about a heart that’s right with God.

A heart that’s right with God is not just blood-washed heart.

A heart that is right with God is a heart that is thinking right about who He is, about His word, about His faithfulness.

We want cleansing.

We keep talking about our heart being cleansed.

We come on the guilt, fear, and condemnation, always battling those things.

God says, “Wait a minute.

I want to deal with this greater issue, the greater picture.

I want to know if you believe what I say.

I want to know what’s in your heart.

How would you think about my Heavenly Father?

I brought you out in this wilderness to humble you to say ‘Trust Me.’

And everything which you and I go through …

Our weaknesses are tests.

Everything.

Is God saying?

“Will you turn to My Word? Will you turn to Me?

And believe what I say and let it bring life to you and strength.

I want to give you a right heart.”

If you’re believing in your heart the lie of the devil

‘God has bad thoughts towards you.’

When He says, “I know my thoughts.”

They are good thoughts.

They are hopeful thoughts to give you hope.

Have you been slandering the Lord in your heart?

Have you been thinking wrong thoughts of Him?

Have you even conceived that He could be unfaithful to you anyway?

You have unsaved loved ones.

If you have been praying about them God’s gonna be faithful.

I’ve convinced myself through the study of the Word, through prayer,

and the working and moving in the Holy Spirit in my life.

God’s been faithful.

And He’s gonna be faithful until I die.

He’s gonna be faithful to keep me.

Lord, we need to pray that you give us right heart and good spirit

and a right heart that is resting in the faithfulness of God.

Lord I believe that’s the rest of the remains for the children of God.

That’s a complete confidence in the faithfulness of God.

And we can rest on Your Word, and not fear.
