Who is going to pray?

Who is going to pray?

(Breaking the Yoke)

David Wilkerson

I said about television.

Neither shalt thou bring an abomination into thine house, lest thou be a cursed thing like it: but thou shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it;

for it is a cursed thing.

Deuteronomy 7:26

What curse is it?

Because Satan has used it as number one tool now to destroy the vitality of the church of Jesus of Christ and take away the diligence of the coming of the Lord, the diligence of righteousness and it’s put a people to sleep

My Bible says,

How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; …

Hebrews 2:3

That doesn’t mean neglecting prayer. That doesn’t mean neglecting reading the Bible. How shall we escape if we neglect the salvation of the lost city?

How do we escape if we neglect the salvation of our family? This is a great salvation for the whole world. But how can you even talk about it if your heart’s not right?

Many pastors have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my portion under foot, they have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness.

Jeremiah 12:10

They have made it desolate, and being desolate it mourneth unto me; the whole land is made desolate, because no man layeth it to heart.

Jeremiah 12:11

No man is diligent about it. No man is upset about it. No man is concerned about it.

I was walking down Broadway seventieth street the other night. And I was weeping I couldn’t help it.

I was looking at all the masses of people coming up from work and listen to horns and look at those masses of people.

I was thinking about this great salvation and how do we escape.

How do I escape if I neglect this great salvation that’s free to all?

And I said,

“Oh God, they must be all damned.

So many be damned.

Such a small handful of Christians.”

You know what I heard. It’s just broke me. I started to weep. As though He came down and put a finger right on my chest and pointed the finger at me.

He stopped me dead in my tracks. I was weeping.

He said,

“David, if not you, who?

Who’s He going to touch the city with?

Who’s going to fast?

Who’s gonna pray?

If not those who’s heart’s been stirred …

If not those who’ve been looking at the Word of the Lord and say,

‘Oh God, I can’t live double life.

I can’t live a lie.

I’m not gonna call ‘Lord, Lord’

and go to sit in front of my idols.’

If God can’t find us …

If not you …

Then who?

Who’s gonna weep for the city?

Who’s gonna pray?

If not you praying for your unsaved family?

Who?

Who’s God gonna get?

Where’s He gonna find somebody?

Where?

“If you don’t go to pray, who goes?

If not you …

Who?”

It hit me.

And ever since then I’ve just a few days now, every waking moment, …

“If not you, David …

If you won’t seek My face …

If you won’t humble yourself …

If you won’t give yourself to prayer …

If you won’t give yourself wholly to Me …

Like Jeremiah, like Isaiah, like Ezekiel …”

You say, “Brother David, you mean to tell me that after working all day on the job I’ve got to carry another burden after that. I want to go home and relax.”

“You mean to tell me I’ve got to weep over the lost.

I’ve got to live like Jesus did?

that I’ve got to break away and pray?

Even though I’ve been now ministering the people,

I’ve got to still break away and pray?

And then I’ve got to go to closet

and I’ve got to die to self and sin?”

Yes!

It all depends on whether you believe that God’s word’s true or not. It all depends on whether you believe that judgement is coming. It all depends on whether you would say “Things gonna be continuous from the beginning of time?”(2Peter 3:4)

No.

God’s saying,

“It’s enough.”

How shall we escape if we neglect, if we become careless?

We’re not laying it to heart.

Heavenly Father,

Draw me nearer, Jesus.

Draw me nearer to You.

Let my heart burn for You.

Let my heart burn after righteousness.

Lord, cleanse me.

Drive out all the idolatry, and all the adultery and the lust.

Fill my heart with You, Jesus.
