The Church Depending on God
The Church Depending on God
(Sharing the Grief of God)
David Wilkerson
Remember when Israel began to lust for a king they wanted to be just like all the nations. That’s the reason we have what we have in churches today. Because we want to be just like the world. Just like the world.
Listen to Samuel. He falls on his knees. He’s grieved. And God shares His grief with him. And he’s speaking for God now.
They are not totally dependent on God anymore. And folks, that’s what happens when sin is in the church. It takes away, robs it of its faith.
The church no longer is intimate with Christ, no longer dependent wholly on God, depend on the Holy Spirit, but running around with schemes, plans, dreams, networking, strategizing, and committee meetings, trying in the flesh and sweat, trying to make it rather than depend on God, the Almighty God.
When God make a covenant with Abraham, He didn’t tell him what He’s going to do. He just said, “Abraham, I’m God Almighty.”
He didn’t tell him what He is gonna do.
He just said,
“I’m God Almighty. That’s all you need. To trust I’m Almighty God.”
He said, “Well, they want my reward to be seen. I don’t have a son.”
He said,
“I will be your reward.”
The church doesn’t need anything else but God Almighty on His throne.
